International Day of Yoga was created by the United Nations Assembly in 2014, when a resolution made by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Damodardas Modi, was approved. Yoga originated in India over 5,000 years ago and is a practice that involves wellness on the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual levels.
