VMany areas of the United Kingdom were hit by severe flooding on Monday, leaving homes, roads and businesses under water after a severe storm. According to Sky News, 125.8 millimetres of rain was recorded in just 48 hours, which is equivalent to twice the average rainfall expected for the entire month of September.

The intense rainfall warning issued by British weather officials came into effect on Monday morning and is expected to continue until 9pm. The worst-affected areas include Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and parts of London, where the intensity of the storm caused significant transport disruption and considerable property damage.

The United Kingdom’s Meteorological Service (Met Office) has also warned of the possibility of more rain in the coming days, which could worsen the situation. Emergency teams are working to serve the affected areas and minimize damage, while residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and prepare for possible new flooding.
