WDR releases new eyewitness stories in Augmented Reality

Currently, on 12th June, Anne Frank would have been 90 decades aged. Her diary is regarded as the epitome of a testimony to the traumatic horrors of the 2nd Environment War and the crimes in opposition to the Jewish individuals.

Finding out from record – the German community broadcaster WDR also sees that as just one of the most crucial social responsibilities and would like to make its contribution. With the impressive application “WDR AR 1933-1945” it is preserving heritage for posterity. In February the app was revealed with eye-witness reviews from children of the war from London, Leningrad and Cologne. On 12th June with “My pricey close friend Anne Frank” a further more, shifting chapter of present-day heritage appears in augmented fact in just the app.

“Anne Frank embodies the battle amongst superior and evil and reminds us of the darkest chapter of German history”, claims WDR Director-General Tom Buhrow. “Her diary has produced obvious to the world what war and totalitarianism can do to persons. It is our responsibility to continue to keep her memory alive in the foreseeable future. For that purpose, I am happy that the university-friends of Anne Frank have spoken about their popular historical past for the WDR’s AR application – and, in carrying out so, have preserved it for the generations to come with point out-of-the-artwork technological innovation.”

Two mates of Anne Frank explain to their tale about the woman who turned a tragic myth: To file these memories Jacqueline van Maarsen and Hannah Goslar agreed to be filmed for the application. The outcome is remarkable: like holograms the app embeds the pals of Anne Frank in the respective atmosphere of the person and can make the emotional experiences of the two eyewitnesses into a one of a kind working experience.
