DRDO Chairman Satheesh Reddy on Diamond Jubilee of ‘Ananth’ JNTU

Anantapur, 18th December (Andhra Jyoti): Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Chairman Satheesh Reddy said technical education is important in the defense system. The Diamond Jubilee of JNTU (A) at Anantapur was organized on Saturday at the NTR Auditorium of the Varsity. The chief guest of Diamond Jubilee was Satheesh Reddy, an alumnus of the university and Chairman of DRDO. He first unveiled an pylon installed in the university campus. Speaking on the occasion, Satheesh Reddy said that India is at the forefront of missile launch in the world. Remembering the successful launch of Agni Prime missile under the aegis of DRDO. The weight of this missile is less than Agni-3. It can be launched from anywhere. He said the missile is unique in its capability to carry nuclear weapons from any corner of the country. He said that engineers play a major role in the manufacturing of missiles and weapons. The mechanical and engineering models required for their use would have to be developed within the stipulated time. He called upon every student pursuing technical education to strive for new project innovations. Satheesh Reddy said that there is a need to start defense courses through PG in engineering colleges. The quality faculty will be provided by Defence. Later, Satheesh Reddy was felicitated by JNTU VC Ranga Janardhan, Rector Vijayakumar, Registrar Sasidhar, College Principal Sujatha and State Higher Education Council President Hemachandra Reddy.
