Alex Jones will miss two weeks of The One Show after being forced to live alone.

The regular host skipped going to the studio for tonight’s episode, which was introduced by Alex Scott and Gathin Jones.

However, he made a presentation via video call, where he explained his absence.

Speaking to both presenters, the 43-year-old said: ‘I’m so angry I’m not there.

‘What happened, a friend of mine, someone I know out of work who saw me in a few days tested positive for cornvirus.

“So we’ve done the right thing as a family and we’re going to be alone. ‘

Mom-two pressed: ‘Now I have taken a test and thankfully it’s negative, my friend is fine too.

“But we’re living in it and following the guidelines – maybe I’ll be back to work next week. ‘

Alex was calling from her kitchen, which Gathin couldn’t help but joke about.

But the star laughed as he chose his place: ‘This is the only shot in my house where there are no toys, no food on the floor.

‘Literally this is the place that is convenient, this shot. It’s really annoying after spying on everyone’s house. ‘

Alex is not the only celebrity who was forced to leave Just like Little Mix’s Jade Tharwal had to demonstrate last week’s discovery via a video link.

Her reporters said at the time: ‘Jade will have to separate herself this week and so she will be a mentor on Little Mix the Search from home.

‘For this weekend’s show, Jade will be participating via video link, continuing to consult with Jesse, Le-Ann and Perry.’

Being separated for two weeks doesn’t mean Jade has caught up with Kovid-19, but like Alex, he probably came in contact with someone who did.

One show continues on ITV at 7pm on weekdays.
