Brazil and India signed agreement to develop 6G technology

6G Brazil and India’s India 6G Alliance (B6GA) signed a bilateral MoU to encourage and develop 6G. This agreement establishes international cooperation to define the future of next generation mobile telephony networks with the aim of accelerating the implementation of new technology and creating globally harmonized standards.

This collaboration aims to strengthen the partnership between Brazil and India in the telecommunications and connectivity sector and is an opportunity for both countries to lead the definitions for the advancement of 6G and telecommunications.

In the final declaration of the BRICS meeting held in Kazan Russia between 22 and 24 October, the countries forming the bloc highlighted the recognition that emerging technologies such as 5G, satellite systems, terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks have been recognized. Fernando Soares, Director of Regulation and Innovation at Conexis, who signed the memorandum, highlighted that the collaboration is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences between the two largest mobile phone markets in the world. “This memorandum will expand the ecosystem, allowing efficient planning for the advent of 6G,” he said.
