Four Argentine players should not take the field against Brazil

Envisa rejects laboratory in India that produces covaxin vaccine

Four Argentine players cannot take the field for this afternoon’s match against Brazil’s football team in the Qatar World Cup qualifiers. They are Dibu Martinez and Emiliano Buendia, both from Aston Villa, England, and Kati Romero and Gio Lo Celso, also from Tottenham, England.

He lied to Anvisa to enter the country. He said in the past two weeks he had not been to any of the four countries with travel restrictions imposed by Brazil: the UK, South Africa, Northern Ireland and India. But the passports of the four athletes show they were in England until last weekend, when they flew to Caracas, Venezuela and from there to Sao Paulo.

According to Anvisa, apart from omitting this information in the official health statement, the players did not submit the mandatory RT-PCR test before the trip.

After a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Coordination of Disease Control of the Department of Health of the State of So Paulo, Anvisa informed the federal police of the fact. The regulatory agency asked the four players to immediately observe a 14-day quarantine, not participate in any activity and leave the Brazilian territory as soon as possible.

Also, according to Anvisa, a health risk condition is considered serious.

CONMEBOL, the South American Football Confederation that organizes the World Cup qualifiers, has yet to officially comment on the matter.
