Guardiola cancels press conference after inconclusive test for Kovid-19

Manchester City’s Spanish coach Pep Guardiola was forced to cancel a press conference ahead of Friday’s Premier League match after receiving an inconclusive test result for COVID-19. The coach should await the result of the PCR test before knowing whether he can lead the ‘citizen’ in their away game against Newcastle on Sunday. It is one of five Premier League matches still scheduled for this weekend, following a series of postponements due to the outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the UK.

Guardiola’s last public appearance was at a press conference on Wednesday Farewell to Argentine attacker “Kun” Agueros, in Barcelona. Guardiola, 50, who lost his mother to the coronavirus last year, urged players and people to be wary of the rise in cases.

“I am worried, not because we are going to cancel or disrupt the championship, but because there is a virus in society and people are suffering,” the Catalan coach said earlier this week.
