Sawalha posted a statement on social media indicating she was told a week ago that she was not desired for the sequel. “The explanation they gave is that my voice now seems ‘too old’ and they want a young actress to reprise the position.”

Sawalha’s protest follows reviews that Mel Gibson, who voiced the character of daredevil rooster Rocky, would not be associated in the sequel.
