Apple recently updated its iOS 14.6 software for iPhones. Which adds more technology and smartness to the use of iPhones. These new features prioritize personalization beyond better privacy.
Wearing a mask is a must in the current Covid crisis. Keeping this in mind, it has introduced a feature called ‘Unlock with Apple Watch’. It allows you to unlock iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a mask. This can be done with Settings – Face ID – Pass code. This is possible only when the Apple Watch is synced with the same iPhone. It also has an option. If you don’t have an Apple Watch, you’ll need to disable Face ID. All you have to do is use four digit passcode for screen lock.
You can change the default ‘Siri’ female voice with the new update. Now available with Siri Voices. From there they can choose any option of their choice. If you go to Settings – Siri & Options – all four will appear. You can choose whichever one you like according to your preference.
Can bring a new look to the home screen. You can change iPhone home screen differently with shortcut apps. If you want to change the look, you can change the app icon by downloading the new icon. This will remove the default icon.
Videos can now be viewed while browsing the Internet or reading messages. A new ‘picture-in-picture’ mode has been introduced for this.
Mail may replace the default app for Safari. It allows you to view Gmail and Outlook emails without having to browse Chrome. So go into those settings and search Chrome or Outlook. If you open it, the default browser option will appear. You can change it however you want. The same goes for Gmail’s internal settings.
You can turn off apps that track you. Now comes the feature to deny permissions to certain apps that stop tracking you for online advertising. Apple asks if tracking can be done as soon as a new app is downloaded. You can disable it immediately. You can disable tracking by going to specific app settings.
Apple introduced new podcasts for iPhone users that could give you a new subscription platform. This allows customers to offer paid subscriptions. Ad-free episodes, subscribed episodes may be allowed.
Users of the iPhone 11 series can now find out the real capacity and performance of the device with this new feature. Introduced this feature with iOS 14.5. It shows the actual status of the battery. Battery status is detected by going to the Settings menu. From here the battery can be recalibrated.
Shazem has so far acted as a toggle for identifying songs. With IS 14.6 users have the opportunity to know all the information related to the song. Although this process hasn’t changed, the Shazam Clips app on the iPhone now provides this additional information as well. Find Control Center in the Settings menu. Select ‘Music recognition’ from the list of controls. Now you have to swipe down on Control Center to access this feature. The Shazam logo appears there.
