Indian Battle Royale Underworld Gang Wars (UGW) game passes 2 million pre-registrations

The battle royale game is doing all the hype in the gaming community especially in India. To capitalize on this craze, Indian developers are also venturing into the format realm with their own versions. One such developer, Mayhem Studios recently announced the Underworld Gang Wars (UGW) game. The new game is also listed on the Google Play Store and is available for pre-registration. The new game has crossed 2 million pre-registrations in India and more downloads are expected before the game is launched. Mayhem Studios claims that this will be India’s first AAA game. What will differentiate this new game are the locations that will be used. According to the game’s creators, UGW is set in an Indian story, with the locations, icons and main characters of UGW’s gang representing an Indian context. There will be a rivalry between two gangs in the game. One of the gang leaders is Tyagi, a gangster wearing a shirt and lungi and a hammer, and the leader of the gang carrying an assault rifle, Boris. The game’s developers claim that the UGW game will get maps that resemble real locations in India, including iconic landmarks such as forts, stations, stadiums and coal mines.

Ojas Vipat, CEO, Mayhem Studios, said: “We are very excited to cross the 2 million pre-registration mark in less than two weeks. We set out to give millions of players an immersive experience with the most relatable storyline in AAA games. We really appreciate the love and support for UGWs from across the country.”

Fau-G is another Indian battle royale game that gained traction after PUBG Mobile was banned in India. The developers recently announced a new map. Although the game managed to garner over 5 million downloads on the Google Play Store, the rating dropped to just 2.1 stars. The game was set in the Galwan Valley conflict between China and India.

With Mayhem Studios making bold promises calling their game an AAA title, we’ll have to wait and see if they can live up to the expectations.
