A 76-year-old woman shocked her family after waking up moments before the funeral.
According to information from the British newspaper Metro and confirmed by local authorities, the family of Shakuntala Gaikwad believed that the woman died of Kovid-19.
The woman tested positive for the disease on 10 May and her health deteriorated after that. The elderly woman was also taken to a hospital in Baramati, but the beds were not empty to receive her.
After a while, and when the elderly woman could not get care, the woman fainted, with the family believing that Shakuntala had died and prepared for the funeral. The woman woke up a moment before and knowing what was going to happen she started crying in horror.
There are currently over 3.3 million cases of Kovid-19 currently active in India. According to data from the American University of Johns Hopkins, the country is second in the world in more than 25 million cases, after the United States, with 25,228,996 infections.
