Netflix announced on Friday (14) Bridgerton The spinoff series focused on Queen Charlotte’s story will win. The production, which still has no release date and no official name, will join the already confirmed second, third and fourth seasons.
In addition to showing the rise and life of the queen, young women Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury will also appear on the show. Shonda Rhimes will be a screenwriter and executive producer with Betsy Bear and Tom Verica.
“Many viewers have never known Queen Charlotte’s story before Bridgerton Netflix’s Global TV head Bella Bajaria said in a statement, “Bring it into the world and I’m thrilled that this new series will further expand its history and the world of Bridgerton.”

In addition to the spinoff news, Netflix and Shondaland revealed that Jess Brownell would be the listener for seasons 3 and 4 of the series. Brownwell was the executive editor of the first and second seasons, which is currently being filmed in the UK.
“We’ve worked with Jess Brownell for over a decade and have long wanted to find the right project in your hands. When it came time to pass the baton, I knew that this unique voice was important to the future of the show Is, ”said Rhimes.
Bridgerton has become one of Netflix’s biggest recent hit films and is based on a series of books by author Julia Quinn. Season 2 will be based on the author’s second book and will feature Lord Anthony’s search for a bride.
