Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced today at Connect event Company name changed to Meta. Doing. Record can be found here. “Our company is building technologies that connect. Together, we can finally put people at the center of our technology.” Zuckerberg said. However, commentators around the world are clear that the noble words are just a cover for the problems Facebook is currently experiencing:
Ultimately, Zuckerberg offered a reasonable explanation: The company has countless products, so it doesn’t make sense to associate a name with just one. (Although Facebook is still the most important social network).

But the new name contradicts this idea. Meta refers to the metaverse, which is considered the “next big thing”. A platform built on interconnection via the Internet, which integrates virtual reality, augmented reality and many other technologies. The company promises a big investment, but hasn’t yet said exactly what the metaverse will be:
