Palo Alto, Calif.TV streaming technology provider Wurl has announced a deal with LG Electronics to make Wurl’s free ad-supported (FAST) TV channels available on LG Channels worldwide.
Wurl will distribute FAST channels globally, providing monetization and revenue maximization services for the company.
As part of the deal, Wurl will be available on all LG smart TVs starting in 2018, including third-party smart TVs running webOS.
The global reach has already begun with the launch of FAST channels developed by Wurl in the US, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Expansion to other regions including Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, Ireland, Finland, Austria and Switzerland will continue through 2022.
LG Channels is LG’s free streaming service, offering a wide range of premium live and on-demand programming, including movies, TV shows, news, sports, children’s programming and more.
