Communication should be richer by emojis 37 new emoji arriving on cell phones and computers. The Unicode Consortium, an organization that standardizes icon codes around the world, last Tuesday (14) approved a new set – that’s version 14.0.

The novelty features a face with teary eyes, another that is “melting”, an X-ray representation and an image of a specific ingredient on a Brazilian table: beans.

838 new characters were added in Unicode 14.0 – 37 of these are completely new and the rest are skin tone combinations.

For example, the handshake emoji can be added between all skin tones – there are only 25 options for this icon, increasing the representation.

Pregnancy options now include representations of a trans man, a non-binary man, and a woman with short hair.

In total, there will be 3,633 different options among all the emoji.
