Kovid-19 in Argentina - More than 50,000 dead since 12/02/2021

Argentina surpassed more than 50,000 deaths this Friday (12) as it advances the vaccination campaign.

According to the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours, 155 new deaths were recorded, with the number of deaths being 50,029.

The latest official report revealed 7,151 new infections, leading to 2,015,496 cases in a country of 45 million people.

The government expected, for Friday night, an aircraft from the state-owned Aeroline Argentina with 400,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, from the Russian institute Gamalaya.

In previous flights, the planes took 820,000 doses of Sputnik V from Russia, the only vaccination still available in the vaccination scheme.

The government’s campaign involves the purchase of 62 million doses from various laboratories, as reported by Health Minister Ginés Gonzalez Garcia to Congress Commissions.

Next week, 580,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine are expected to come from the Indian Institute of Serum.

González García said the agreements included 30 million doses of Sputnik V, about 23 million of Oxford / AstraZeneca and nine million through the Kovacs international cooperation mechanism.
